Crumbling wall on Church Bank

Anyone travelling on Church Bank by road or by foot will have noticed the crumbling wall and the fallen rocks and stones. This has been a concern for the Church and for the Parish Council for some time. It has been reported to Shropshire Council on several occasions because it is their responsibility.

It was inspected by a structural engineer in December and assessed as structurally sound. The Parish Council were advised to keep a watching brief and in January there was another significant fall of large and small sandstone pieces. This was reported again and the latest response is that repair work will now be part of the Council’s programme of works which start in April.

The engineer wants to be informed of any further deterioration so please do keep reporting it if you see a problem. Thank you to those members of the community who have sent in photos of the recent damage.
