Vacancy for a Councillor

You may see a notice advertising this vacancy on our notice boards. It is the required formal wording for advertising a vacancy on the Parish Council.

If 10 eligible people from the parish request it then an election will be held, but if this doesn’t happen within 14 days then the Parish Council will co-opt someone to fill the vacancy. This means that the Parish Council look for volunteers and, if more than one, vote to decide who is co-opted.
