Private Samuel J Braddick (10427)
1st Battalion, Kings Shropshire Light Infantry

Born 1886 in Ifton Heath, St Martin’s, Oswestry
Son of John and Elizabeth of Dale Cottage, Holden Lane,
Brother to John, Jemima, Eliza and Robert (who also served).
His father was a dealer in Earthenware and he was a Farm Labourer.

Served in the special reserve since he was 18, transferring to the Line Regiment in June 1914.
He died of wounds on 4th March 1916 age 30, the Battalion being under heavy shelling while billeted in Ypres town.
Buried in the Military Cemetery in Lijssenthoek , Belgium.
