Son of Edward and Mary of The Cliffe, Ruyton XI Towns
Brother to John, William, Thomas, Andrew, Rosannah Emily and Lydia Ann
Husband of Edith (nee Rogers) of 1 Cliffe Cottages
Two children, Step son Charles Rogers and John Edward
His Father was an Agricultural Labourer and he was a Farm Labourer
William served in 2nd King’s Rifle Corp
Thomas served in King’s Shropshire Light Infantry (KSLI)
Andrew served in the Royal Welsh Fusiliers

Before the start of the war George had been part of the KSLI for 17 years colour service and five years as a reservist
He was Killed in Action on 10th March 1915 age 36 at Givency France (Machine Gunned).
