Join the Parish Council, help your community

Do you have, or could you make a bit of regular time to help our Parish Council? We meet once a month to discuss what’s happening, what we can do, and then go and do what we can. We currently have one vacant seat on the Council, and you could help make a real and positive difference in our community by joining us. The deadline for applications has been extended to 9pm on Friday 24th Jan.

There are lots of different ways to contribute, whether your interests lie in wildlife and conservation, climate change and recycling, road safety and maintenance, local property planning issues, community events and fundraising, making funding bids, or supporting vulnerable people through the cost of living crisis. Among many other things, we provided support to those who needed it during the worst of the pandemic, provided free SmartWater (forensic marking) kits to the community to protect your valuables, and have recently designated our part of the Cliffe a Local Nature Reserve. There is something for everyone, and the more team members we have, the more we can do to make our parish better for everyone.

We need a range of councillors of all ages and experience to join our friendly team, and all you need is a desire to make a positive difference in Ruyton parish. If you are interested, please send completed application forms to us by the deadline of Fri 24th Feb.

We will be considering all applications received at the next Council meeting on Tues 7th March 2023, and hope to co-opt someone to join us at that time.
